He served his country proudly in the US Merchant Marine from December 7, 1941 to August 15, 1943 during World War II. He predeceased by his wife Mary (nee Kachmar) and his parents Adam and Apolonia and siblings Lottie Auguslewicz, Stella Wisnewski, Adam, Stanley and Joseph Luscy. Walter worked as an Oil Burner mechanic for 50 years, started off as a sub-contractor for Esso a/k/a Exxon and then he worked with many other companies in Bayonne and Jersey City until he retired in late 70's. Walter's passion in life was fishing. He looked forward to every Wednesday and Sunday to go fishing on his boat. He would launch out of Princess Bay in Staten Island until Liberty State Park in Jersey City opened up and would take his boat to the Verrazano Bridge and sometimes Sandy Hook. At the age of 95, he started working out at Planet Fitness gym and hardly missed a day. He couldn't wait to go there every day even in inclement weather. At the wishes of Walter Luscy, a private viewing was served.
