Theodore Bilak Obituary

Teddy was born in Bayonne to Alfreida (nee Pestkowski) and Alexander Bilak on December 4, 1942.  One of sixteen children in the Bilak Family, Ted’s siblings include(d) Geraldine (Micewicz), Alexander, Joseph, Gloria (Dudash), Richard, Bernard, Vincent, Aldona (Mundell), Rosalie (Milachouski), Gregory, Thomas, Edmund, Ronald, Gerard, and Kenneth.

Beloved husband of the late Anna  “Rosie” Carbonaro and life-long companion of the late Irene Miros;a loving stepfather to Alicia and her husband David Losonczy, devoted Pa to Adam, Marissa, and Danielle Losonczy as well as many nieces and nephews, Ted wore a proud smile for each one.  He was Adam, Marissa and Danielle’s loudest cheerleader at the ice rink, the pool, and the stage.

Shortly after graduating from Bayonne High School he began working with his sister, Gloria, at Rose Can Company.  Remaining a life-long resident of Bayonne, Ted’s interests included participating in bowling leagues at Assumption and Hudson Lanes, playing cards, and being a game enthusiast. Ted was a gentle man who later found a fitting job in Bayonne Hospital as a transporter.  Settling nervous patients proved to be a good fit for him until he retired.

He was an avid fan of the NY Yankees, NY Giants and his favorite John Wayne movies. He spent many years, enjoying holidays or football games, with his brother Tommy and his family.  It always put a smile on his face when Emilie and Olivia yelled, “Bye, Uncle Teddy”.

Many people knew Ted and waved to him as he either walked around Bayonne or spent much time outside gardening. He lived a full life surrounded by family and friends who loved him.  Ted was a kind and compassionate person who made a difference in many lives.

There will be a Mass on Friday May 10th, 2024 at Blessed Miriam Teresa Bayonne at 11 am. Private Cremation to follow.
