Tadeusz "Teddy" Bieniek of Bayonne, NJ passed away on Friday, July 15th 2016 at the age of 91. He was born in Zreczyce, Poland, settling in the United States in 1957 where he resided in Bayonne. In 1964, when Ted went back for his 1st visit to his family in Poland, he met Anna Dudek, whom he married, and they then returned to the United States. Ted worked as a cable assembly line operator for Pirelli Cable Corp. (formerly General Cable) in Bayonne until 1980. He then went on to work as a chemical process operator for Chemical Waste Management in Newark for 13 years, prior to his retirement in 1993. As a 16 year old boy, in 1941, Ted was displaced from his family, transported to Germany and survived 4 years in a Nazi labor camp before the Allied Forces occupied Germany. When Ted was released, he worked for the U.S. Military as a civilian performing security details and as a bus driver transporting soldiers between Germany and France. His civilian service offered him the opportunity to immigrate to the U.S. in 1957. Ted was an avid sports fan, especially for soccer, and he also played in recreational leagues. Ted's wife, Anna (nee Dudek) Bieniek of nearly 45 years, predeceased him in 2009. He is survived by his son, Thaddeus Bieniek & his wife Agnieszka; sisters, Maria and Jozefa; brothers, Mieczyslaw and Wlodzimierz (all of Poland); and grandsons, Justin and Konrad. Visitation will be at the Dzikowski, Pierce & Levis Funeral Home, 24 East 19th Street, Bayonne, on Tuesday, July 19th from 2-4 PM & 7-9 PM and Wednesday, July 20th from 8:30-9:30 AM at the funeral home. The Funeral Mass will be on Wednesday, July 20th at 10AM at the Parish of Saint John Paul II in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 39 East 22nd Street, Bayonne. Interment to follow at Our Lady of Czestochowa Cemetery, 654 Ferry Road, Doylestown, PA.
