Sophie F. (nee Drenzek) Zjawin of Bayonne passed away on Monday August 12, 2013 at the age of 93. She was born in Bayonne and was a lifetime resident. Sophie was a loving mother, sister, grandmother and great-grandmother who enjoyed spending time in her rocking chair with her family; sewing; and polka dancing. Mrs. Zjawin was predeceased by her husband, Walter Zjawin; daughters, Christine Lombardi and Gloria Z. Piggot; siblings, Walter Drenzek, Ann Drenzek and Stella Malawich. She is survived by a son Walter R. Zjawin and his wife Chong and a daughter Patricia R. Zjawin and Maryann DeAngelo. Also survived by 8 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Cremation was private. Family and friends will gather the Dzikowski, Pierce & Levis Funeral Home, 24-32 East 19thStreet, Bayonne on Friday morning, August 16thfrom 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. with a prayer service in the funeral home at 10:30 a.m. Interment of Sophie's cremated remains to follow in Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington.
