Sophie (nee Pastuzyn) Petrus was a lifelong resident of Bayonne, passed away peacefully at the age of 86 on Sunday, April 30, 2017. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary American Legion Post # 165 in Bayonne. Sophie is predeceased by her parents, Panko and Fannie (nee Mankiw) Pastuzyn; and her siblings, Mary Pastuzyn, John Pastuzyn, William Pastuzyn, Michael Pastuzyn, Sol Pastuzyn, and Ann Collins. She is survived by her brother, Joseph; her sons, Andrew Jr., Edward and his wife, Belkis, and David; her grandchildren, Edward J., Jacqueline, and Natalie; and her great-grandchildren, Joanna and Edward. Visitations will be at the Dzikowski, Pierce & Levis Funeral Home, 24 East 19th Street, Bayonne on Wednesday, May 3rd from 2-4 & 7-9pm. Parastas will be held during visitation on Wednesday. The funeral will be on Thursday from the funeral home at 9:00 a.m. followed by the Funeral Mass at 10:00 am at Blessed Miriam Teresa Demjanovich Parish Saint Mary Star of the Sea Church, 326 Avenue C, Bayonne.
