Ruth Magda

Ruth Magda (Olko) passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, January 8, 2022, at the age of 83.  Born in Passaic, NJ, she was a Bayonne resident for 62 years. Her greatest joy in life was her family. Ruth loved to shop, travel and was an avid bowler. She also enjoyed dancing and listening to her polka music. She was pre-deceased by her parents, Bartlomiej and Zofia Olko.  Beloved wife of the late Walter M. Magda, Jr. who passed away in 2014. Devoted mother of Gwen Pineiro and her husband Joe, Kevin Magda, Gail Turley and her husband Gordon, Grace Lombardi and her husband Steve and Walter Magda II and his wife Jill.

Sister of Lorraine Materna and the late Bertha Slodeskie, Veronica Kurylo, Ferdinand, Emil, John, Stephen and Matthew Olko. Loving Grandmother to Dr. Alaina Pineiro Harrington (Mark), Amanda Pineiro, Kaitlyn Turley Rafanello (Derek), Karina, Jocelyn and Jordan Turley, Alyssa, Gabrielle and Ava Lombardi, Walter III, John, Kevin and Zofia Magda and adoring Great Grandmother of Alan Jr. and Kristian Paredes. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be at the Dzikowski, Pierce & Levis Funeral Home, 24-32 East 19th Street, Bayonne on Friday, January 14, 2022 from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M. In lieu of flowers, please make a memorial donation to Tunnel to Towers Foundation,  t2t.org.

The funeral will be conducted by the funeral home on Saturday, January 15, 2022 at 9:30 A.M. followed by the Funeral Liturgy at the Parish of St. John Paul II at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 39 East 22nd Street, Bayonne at 10:30 A.M.

Interment will follow in Rosedale Cemetery, 792 East Edgar Road, Linden, NJ
