Robert "Bob" Tonnesen

Robert "Bob" Tonnesen, 76, of Bayonne, New Jersey, passed on September 28, 2021. Robert was born on January 25, 1945. He was born in Neptune, New Jersey and was raised in Newark, New Jersey. He is survived by his wife Theresa Tonnesen, son Robert John Tonnesen, Daughter Carol Dencker, son-in-law Scott Dencker, Granddaughter Ambur Dencker, Grandson Daniel Skulnik, Sister-in-law Patricia Tonnesen, Neices Jaclyn and Lara Tonnesen, Brother-in-law Anthony Ryan, Neice Gina Marie Ryan, Nephew Anthony Ryan, and ten grand neices and nephews. He is proceeded in death by his Mother Doris Brugger Dominic, Father Robert Plenser Tonnesen, Brother James Sigvald Tonnesen, Sister-in-law Christine Ryan, daughter Barbara Skulnik and his beloved greyhound Anakin. Robert spent over 40 years in the trucking industry and after retirement switched to working as a bartender for 10 years. Throughout his life Robert had several passions including: history, and cheering on his favorite teams The New York Mets, New York Jets, and New Jersey Devils. Services are going to be held on Monday, October 4th between 4pm-8pm at Dzikowski, Pierce & Levis Funeral home located at 24-32 East 19th Street Bayonne, NJ. A mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday morning October 5th at 10am at Blessed Mariam Teresa Demjanovich Parish at St. Mary's Church.
