Richard J. Zaszewski, 72, a lifelong resident of Bayonne passed away on October 26th, 2016. He was a chemical operator at Exxon Mobile in Bayonne for 42 years prior to his retirement in 2008. Richard was an avid fisherman who enjoyed crabbing, football, baseball and chess. He was also a avid reader. Richard is the son of Ann (nee Posluszny) and the late Leo Zaszewski; devoted father of Richard Zaszewski & his wife Alison, Francine Cherchio & her husband John, Deanna Romanolo & hers husband Andew and John Zaszewski & his wife Megan; siblings Leona Green, Barbara Grapstul & her husband Bill, and the late Thomas Zaszewski; grandfather of Cathryn, Isabella, John, Denise and Sophia. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. A Funeral Mass will be 11:00 a.m. Friday at the Parish of Saint John Paul II in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 39 East 22nd Street, Bayonne. Please gather at the church at 10:45 a.m. Cremation will be private. In lieu of flowers please make memorial donations to the Wounded Warrior Project or Saint Peters Prep in Jersey City. Arrangements are under the care of Dzikowski, Pierce & Levis Funeral Home, 24 East 19th Street, Bayonne.
