Mary Meka 97 Bayonne, NJ Mary (nee Bawiec) Meka, a lifelong resident of Bayonne, NJ passed away on Thursday, January 19, 2017 at the age of 97. She was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of American and the Leisure Club of Bayonne she was an avid Polka fan and followed John Stanky and The Coal Miners of Nanicoke, PA. Mrs. Meka is predeceased by her husband, Walter "Jack" Meka; daughter Frances Malinconico; siblings Clara, Joseph, Frank, and Stanley Bawiec. Surviving is her daughter Kathleen Meka; brother John Bawiec and a sister Adele Czajczynski; 2 grandchildren Michael Malinconico and his wife Melissa and Nicole Lalley & her husband Ray; 3 great grandchildren Jack and Paige Malinconico, and Charlotte Lalley; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be at the Dzikowski, Pierce & Levis Funeral Home, 24 East 19th Street, Bayonne, on Sunday, January 22nd from 2:00 to 5:00 pm. The funeral will be held on Monday, January 23rd at 9:00 am from the funeral home followed by the Funeral Mass at 10:00 am in the Parish of Saint John Paul II at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 39 East 22nd Street, Bayonne. Interment to follow in Holy Cross Cemetery, 340 Ridge Road, North Arlington.
