Lillian A. ( nee Darnell) Williams of Jersey City passed away on Thursday August 1, 2013 at the age of 80. She was born in Jersey City and was a lifetime resident. Lillian was an assembler with Alpha Metals in Jersey City for several years prior to her retirement. Spending time with her family was the most precious thing for Lillian. She also enjoyed shopping. Lillian was predeceased by her husband Theodore Williams; son, Kevin Burgess Sr; graddaughter Noetha M. Burgess; great-granddaughter Kiaya N. McBee; son-in-law, Jack Townes Sr; siblings, George K. Carr, Eugene, Margaret, Doris, John and Louise. She is survived by her children, James Emory Burgess III, and his wife Wanette, Doris Townes and George Burgess; sister, Shirley Williams; 15 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren; special cousins Ruth Ann Worthy and Steven Merritt; special friend Paula Barlow. Also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, family & friends. Visitation at the Dzikowski, Pierce & Levis Funeral Home, 24 East 19thStreet, Bayonne on Thursday afternoon from 2:00 to 4:00 pm. Evening visitation will be at Christ the King Church, 768 Ocean Avenue, Jersey City from 7:00 to 8:00 pm, followed by a Funeral Mass at 8:00 pm. Cremation will be private.
