John Campel Jr

John Campel Jr., 76 of Bayonne, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 27, 2023, in Ocean University Medical Center surrounded by his loving family.  He was born on December 8, 1946, in Bayonne, New Jersey where he remained a lifelong resident. He worked for Shell Oil Company before retiring from the City of Bayonne in the Department of Public Works where he was a mechanic. He very much enjoyed spending time at the Jersey shore, vacationing to tropical island destinations, Caribbean cruises, working on cars, biking, and helping his friends and neighbors, but his greatest joy was spending time with his children and grandson. He will be remembered for his immense love for his family and will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved him.  

Beloved husband of the late Patricia Campel (Stepanek). Loving and devoted father of Jennifer Campel and husband Domenick Pasceri, John Campel, and Tracy Bigelow. Loving and devoted grandfather to Nicholas Bigelow. Lifelong friend and brother-in-law to Robert Stepanek.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the viewing on Monday, October 2, 2023, from 4-8 p.m. at the Dzikowski, Pierce & Levis Funeral Home, 24 East 19th Street, Bayonne.  Mass services will be on Tuesday, October 3, 2023, at 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Mt.
