Joan (nee Funk) Hennings, a lifelong resident of Bayonne, passed away on Friday, April 21, 2017 at the age of 76. Joan was a crossing guard supervisor for the City of Bayonne for over 20 years, prior to retiring in 2006. She enjoyed spending time with her late husband, Francis, at Robins Reef Yacht Club in Bayonne. Joan was predeceased in 2003 by her husband, Francis Hennings; her parents, Walter & Antoinette (nee Szybisty) Funk; a sister Dolores Breymer and a brother Frank Funk. Joan is survived by her son, Kevin Hennings; brothers Bobby Funk and John Funk; and grandchildren, Amanda Hennings and Nicholas Hennings. Visitation will take place at the Dzikowski, Pierce and Levis Funeral Home, 24 East 19th Street, Bayonne on Monday, April 24th from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. The funeral will be held on Tuesday, April 25th from the funeral home at 8:30 a.m. followed by the Funeral Mass at 9:30 a.m. in Saint Henry Church, Avenue C at the corner of 29th Street, Bayonne.
