On March 31, 2023, Jeane Cecilia Norton (Buziak), 89, passed away peacefully at Bayonne Medical Center, Bayonne. Born in Jersey City, she lived in Bayonne for 53 years.
As a CCD Teacher, Pre-Cana leader, volunteer worker at Bingo and the yearly carnival, Jeane gave her time and talents for many years at St. Andrew’s School and Parish. She was particularly devoted to leading the Tuesday afternoon rosary prayer services for her fellow parishioners.
In addition to her years at Saint Andrews, Jeane was also a volunteer for the Windmill Alliance, Hudson Ability Bowling League, and with her beloved husband Tom was a founding member of the Special Children’s Athletic Training Experience (SCATE).
Jeane was predeceased by her husband Thomas E; her daughter Elizabeth. In addition, Jeane was also predeceased by 9 of her siblings. She is survived by her sons Joseph (Fran), Thomas A, Edward (Susan), Francis, and her daughters Jeane E Norton, Patricia Norton, Mary Ann Pona (James), Cecilia Colbeth, Carolyn Davies (James), and Kathleen Yautz (Stephen). Jeane is also survived by her loving sister Stella McMonagle, and by her 14 Grandchildren, who she loved dearly.
Visitation will be Monday, April 3, from 4-8 p.m. at Dzikowski Pierce & Levis Funeral Home, Bayonne. Funeral Mass at St. John Paul II Church Parish at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday April 4.
Internment in Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington NJ.
