Janice P. Buzinkai Obituary
Janice Patricia Buzinkai (nee Pavlick) passed away peacefully on April 16, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. She was 77 years old and resided in Bayonne, NJ for her whole life. Janice was born on March 17, 1949, in Bayonne, NJ to the late Joseph & Tessie Pavlick (nee Drobinski). Janice was a 1967 graduate of Bayonne High School when she met the love her life, her high school sweetheart, the late Stephen Buzinkai. They could be seen cruising down Broadway, going to prom and enjoying the rides in Coney Island. After high school, Janice worked locally as a secretary in Jersey City, NJ until she decided to devote her life to raising her four children.
Janice had many passions including arts & crafts, gardening, cooking her famous Swedish Meatballs and Baked Ziti. She was known to make the most beautiful crocheted socks which brought her so much joy. Although camping wasn't always her favorite, she did it all summer for her kids. She could often be found in her recliner either reading a good mystery book or watching her beloved Hallmark Christmas movies. Christmas held a special place in her heart, and she could never get the decorations up early enough.
One of her favorite things about Christmas was decorating the tree which was the last present given to her by her beloved "Sam". Fall, Winter & Spring were spent watching Devils hockey. Summer nights were often spent at the picnic table in the yard with Bri cracking open a batch of freshly caught crabs, with a cold glass of ice tea. But out of all of these, her greatest passion was the love for her grandkids. After 33 years of being apart Janice is joyfully reunited with her soulmate Stephen Buzinkai in Heaven. Together they created a beautiful family: two sons, David Joseph Buzinkai & Brian Stephen Buzinkai, along with two daughters Debra Anne Buzinkai & Sharon Lynn Walsh. One daughter-in-law Michele Buzinkai, and one son-in-law Patrick Walsh, Jr. Loving Grandma to Stephen & Allison Buzinkai; Taylor Buzinkai; Matthew, Lexie & Zachary Walsh. Janice was predeceased by her loving sister Geraldine (Geri) Parke who she loved spending time with. They could often be found sitting around the kitchen table playing Skip-Bo, Rummikubes or Phase 10. Surviving are her brother John (Jack) Pavlick (Abbe); sister-in- law Suzanne Buzinkai; brother-in-law Joseph Buzinkai; sister- in-law Helen Schreiber; sister-in-law Adele Buzinkai; sister-in- law Ethel "Sissy" Kelly (Patrick); and sister-in-law.
