Jack Musarra, Sr. of Bayonne passed away on Thursday September 11, 2014 at the age of 72. He was born in Jersey City and lived most of his adult life in Bayonne. Jack was a Bayonne Police Officer for 25 years prior to his retirement in 1995. For the past 29 years he was the owner of Georges (Petridis) Hot Dogs in Bayonne. Jack was Navy Veteran, a member of the Tuckerton American Legion and the Bayonne P.B.A. Jack is the husband of Margaret Howlett; father of Mary Jo Maurer & her husband Joseph, Dawn Rakow & her husband Gary, and John T. Musarra, Jr.; Step-father of Timothy Howlett and Charles Howlett & his wife Cassie; brother of Howard Musarra, Anna Vanderlaan, Charles Musarra, June Maule, Rosemary McCormack, Barbara Tulko, the late Frank Musarra, the late Joan McGrath, the late Nancy Stern and the late Lawrence (Sonny) Musarra; also survived by his grandchildren Christine, Shannon, Ashley and Cody. Jack was known by everyone in his community as one of the nicest guys they ever met. His smile followed him wherever he went. He was generous, kind, as gentle as a teddy bear and always there to lend a hand. Jack was loved by everyone. Visitation will be at the Dzikowski, Pierce & Levis Funeral Home, 24 East 19th Street, Bayonne, on Monday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. The funeral will be Tuesday from the funeral home at 9:00 a.m. follow by the Funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. in Saint Michael's RC Church, 21 East 23rd Street, Bayonne.
