Mrs. Irene (nee Oskierko) Maksymowicz, a lifelong resident of Bayonne, passed away on Sunday, March 12th, 2017 at the age of 96. Before retiring, she was a grocery store owner for 30 years with her late husband, Mr. Edward Maksymowicz, and was a former member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Senior Citizens. She dedicated her life to being a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Irene is predeceased by her husband, Mr. Edward Maksymowicz; her parents, John Oskierko and Alexandra; her siblings, Joseph Oskierko, Benjamin Oskierko, and Helen Bucella. She is survived by her children, Edward M. Maksymowicz, and Diane Mitchell and her husband, Robert; and grandchildren Jennifer Valdivieso and her husband David; and great-granddaughter, Ava Valdivieso. Visitation service will be held on Friday, March, 17th, 2017 from 4-7pm at Dzikowski, Pierce, and Levis Funeral Home located at 24 East 19th Street, Bayonne. Funeral services will be on Saturday, March 18th at Dzikowski, Pierce and Levis Funeral Home from 9-9:30am, following a Funeral Mass at 10am at Parish of St. John Paul II Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church located on 39 East 22nd Street, Bayonne. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, 340 Ridge Road, North Arlington, NJ, 07031.
