Francis J Falandys Obituary

Francis (Frank) John Falandys, age 97, formerly of Bayonne, passed away on Thursday October 17, 2013 at the Delaire Convalescent and Nursing Center in Linden, New Jersey where he resided for the past five years. Born in Bayonne, Frank was the son of the late Karol and Anna (nee Piechota) Falandys. Frank was predeceased by his sisters Mary Falandys, Julia Whaselsky, Stephany Wojslawowicz, his brother, Louis Falandys, a niece, Joan Whaselsky Lambertson, a nephew, William Whaselsky and a great nephew, Thomas Pagano. He is survived by several nieces and nephews, several great nieces, a great nephew and two great-great nieces. Frank worked for General Motors prior to his retirement in 1972. Frank served in World War II as a first sergeant in the United States Marines. He was in the Pacific Theater where he attained several medals and honors. Viewing will be held at the Dzikowski, Pierce and Levis Funeral Home, 24 East 19th Street, Bayonne on Sunday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. The funeral will be held on Monday from the funeral home at 8:45 a.m. followed a Funeral Mass to be celebrated at St. Andrew's Roman Catholic Church, 125 Broadway, Bayonne on at 9:45 a.m. Interment will be at Holy Cross Cemetery, 340 Ridge Road, North Arlington, N.J.
