Cathleen (Mahoney) Zaepfel Obituary

Cathleen was born February 2, 1932. She was a resident of Monmouth County but had lived much of her life in Bayonne. She was a graduate of Benedictine Academy and was employed in nursing as an administrator, teacher and nurse practitioner. She held several post-graduate degrees from Seton Hall and Columbia University. She was pre-deceased by her parents Catherine Reilly Mahoney and William Mahoney, her brothers Thomas Mahoney and William Mahoney, and her sister Marie Wilson Wheelden. She is survived by her beloved nieces and nephews: Michael Wilson (Sue), Carol Buckland (John), Grace Soldivieri (Marty), Thomas Mahoney, Sean Mahoney (Susan), Anne Mahoney and Jerilynne Ragoonanan (David). Cathleen was an avid bird watcher and loved to hike and walk. She was a feisty lady with a streak of independence and a great sense of humor. She will be deeply missed. Visitation will be held Wednesday, August 3rd from 6:00 to 8:00 pm (evening only) at the Dzikowski, Pierce & Levis Funeral Home, 24 East 19th Street, Bayonne. There will be a prayer service for Cathleen at 7:30 pm. Cremation will be private. In lieu of flowers please make donations in Cathleen's memory to the charity of your choice.
